This class is included in my reguired coursework but I am interested to learn about measurement and
assessment as I believe it to be important to all realms of Psychology and will be helpful towards whichever career path I take in the future.
The most experience Lhave with measurement and assessment are from previous coursework from
undergrad. Most courses I took included some form of measurement and assessment- research methods, child psychology, abnormal psychology. In the future I'd love to work with criminals, possibly as a profiler. This field uses measurement and assessment very often. Personality tests, intelligence tests, clinical tests, and lie detector tests are all used to gain more insight and understanding of the individual who is being studied. I believe these all to be very effective and a crucial component to learning about an individual to build their profile.
