Indicators of Anxiety and Depression during the Pandemic Visualization Dashboard

3-2 Discussion I chose the Indicators of anxiety or depression during the pandemic visualization dashboard. I chose this dashboard because I also struggle with anxiety. I wanted to see how the pandemic had an effect on others, based on age, race, education, and gender. The dashboard shows a line graph for each different category. The age category is by age groups; however, the rest are rest are standard. There is also a color graph of the United States showing that states average percentage of people with depression or anxiety in each state. In this dashboard I do not gather that there is a direct intended audience. However, I feel like this is something for anyone who thinks they may be suffering from depression or anxiety to look at to gain some knowledge, in addition, to not feeling alone. If someone feels they are suffering from depression and anxiety, they can look at this graph to see if they statistically have a higher chance of having one of the two. While this doesn't rule out that person being diagnosed with one of these diseases, it can give them a visual representation or an extra boost to go get the help they need. The purpose of this dashboard is to show a representation of people over 18 with anxiety and depression across the United States due to the pandemic. With the age graph, ages are grouped together. This graph shows which age group conveys the highest amount of anxiety and depression. Secondly, it shows every range of education, and which shows the highest. Third. by gender, next, race, and the main graph, showing the national average by state. With the line graphs each category is grouped together by color. Age is represented by the color purple, teal represents the level of education, red by gender, and orange for the race category. This graph is pretty self-explanatory, the longer the line the higher the average of people over 18 with anxiety or depression, and the shorter the line, the lower the average. Furthermore, the main graph that represents the states average, is shown by a layout of the United States. Next, it is split up by the shade of blue that covers that state. The darker the blue the higher average of people over 18 with depression or anxiety in that state, and the lighter the blue the lower.
