4-2 Final Project Milestone Three Sociological Lenses
According to the conflict theory, how a family responds to conflict and how long it persists
affects the differences that families experience with this viewpoint. Always use moderation in all
that we do in life. Technology and social media, in my opinion, are identical. It is possible to
replace the time parents and kids spend on technology with family activities. Parents can
concentrate more on their children if they keep an eye on how much time they spend on
technology and social media. Parents who keep an eye on their children's screen time can spend
more time together as a family. Varied cultures have different ways that families respond to or
handle this issue. I think some societies have very stringent rules around technology and value
spending time with family more. Families are losing perspective on what matters, and we are
allowing the social media world to raise our children rather than doing it ourselves. Spending
time with our kids and getting to know them is what's important.
According to functionalists, society is maintained by consensus, which means that its members
come to an agreement on what's best for the community and work together to make it happen.
Families play different roles in different communities. The family with a mother, a father, and
kids is the one that is most widely accepted as the standard. That standard is no longer what it
once was. Nowadays, families are more socially built because technology has become so
pervasive in our culture. According to the functionalist theory, households are the most important
institutions in societies where family dynamics fluctuate, and conditions change. Dads used to
work, and moms would take care of the house and kids back then. Now that both parents are
employed, everyone pitches in to help around the house. The dynamics of the household also
alter throughout time.
According to the symbolic interactionism theory, we can infer what something means to a person
by their conduct. As a result of the diversity of our world, we can learn so much from each other
It is not surprising that parenting now is very different from parenting decades ago because
parents are frequently impacted by their settings and certain trends. especially in light of global
technology advancements. Family members use symbolic interactionism as a means of defining
themselves based on how closely they match other families' behaviors and characteristics. Both
offline and online, these things are visible. The behaviors and fashions of many families are
modeled after those of other people in society. Social media and technology are changing the
normative family values and teachings when people base their decisions on what they see online
