Jessie J. White POL-210 Final Project Milestone One Topic Proposal SNHU Professor Bennett
Proposal For my topic proposal I'd like to research the drafting of the U.S. Constitution. Some of the questions I hope to answer are What led to the drafting of the Constitution? Are there any events or ideas that had any influence/impact regarding the Constitution? Where there any rules or laws established in the form of a constitution to govern the states prior to the U.S. Constitution.
Viewpoint Considering viewpoints, I did some minor research and found that before the drafting of the U.S. constitution there was an agreement, or an initial frame of government known as the Articles of Confederation. This is quite interesting because to adopt a new plan, The decision to do so could have fostered a situation for opposition towards the U.S Constitution as well as support for the Articles of Confederation. As I progress throughout my research, I plan to analyze both of those viewpoints while furthering my understanding of the drafting of the U.S. Constitution.
Constitutional Connections My topic proposal directly relates to the U.S. Constitution as it provides background history of how it was birthed by the founding fathers along with ideas, reasons, etc. for its implementation. Power and structure regarding the balance between governments such as national/state is another relation. The most notable relation between the two pending further research is the origins of the laws as in my topic or part the research within my topic pertaining to prior constitutions, both governed the United States and were official laws/regulations of the United States.
