Lessons from Box Case Study for Precision Case Study

In preparation for this discussion, read Chapter 5 in your textbook and review the Harvard Business Review case study "Box: The Evolution of Management Practices in a Start-Up." Then, based on what you provided in the Module Two discussion question, share your response to the following question: What lessons did you learn from the Box case study that you could apply to the Precision case study? (The case study "Appraising Performance at Precision" can be found in Chapter 3 of your textbook.) In response to peers' posts, try to find connections between their lessons learned and your own. Offer a full explanation as to why you agree or disagree with their problems and recommendations. Please respond to your peers in a scholarly manner, using scholarly research to support your statements. Include anything you may have learned from your peers that you did not think of when writing your discussion response last week. Then, based on what you provided in the Module Two discussion question, share your response to the following question: What lessons did you learn from the Box case study that you could apply to the Precision case study? A quick recap of my response in Module Two, Precision was trying to incorporate a merit pay program. All the workers were essential getting paid the same with the same increase in base pay every year. There was nothing that was able to differentiate between workers for they didn't really have job titles. The supervisors were also evaluating all the employees the same which doesn't inform employees what feedback they need to improve and make the company better. In the box case, they mention many valid points that Precision needs to work on. One of the points I mentioned that Precision needs to work on was his supervisors properly training them on what to look for in an employee. During the evaluation, providing proper feedback would be essential to making them better employees. As for the top performers in Precision company, they are the ones who would deserve the pay raise. Which will help create some motivation to make others work harder. We want to reward the highest performers to drive the right behavior in the company (Shaw & Schifrin, 2015).
