The topic I chose to explore is Human Rights and Inequality
Subtopic - Disability Rights
Explain what you already know about the chosen topic based on your personal history or experiences.
Human Rights in my definition would be the rights to life and freedom within. It reflects moral
norms in a society that are protected by laws that are put in place. Inequality profounds human rights depending on income, gender, or social class. Disability rights are a part of one's human rights. This gives anyone with a disability the right not to be discriminated on. I work with special needs children and this law allows them to seek employment and operate as a normal person would.
Describe the beliefs, assumptions, and values you have related to the topic you chose.
It is said to believe that inequality threatens your human rights. For example, in a society depending on your status you are rewarded better resources. Another example is healthcare, your income or social status in a community can get you better healthcare than someone of a lower class. There are many beliefs and assumptions surrounding people that suffer with a disability. Many people believe that because one is disable, they are not able to perform a task just as good as someone who does not have a disability. Another assumption surrounding people that has a disability is they need to be treated differently because they are special. This assumption goes along with the thought that people with special needs will always need help. Everyone should be able to live and learn and make their own mistakes whether your disable or not without being judged.

Disability rights are more important in society today than it ever was. One reason why this right is so highly relevant today is because the disability population is large and growing more every day. Having these laws in place ensures that everyone is having equal rights across the board. With the pandemic that we are currently fighting, people that have a disability are at high risk due to their condition or situations so it is important that this group are included in anything that is being offered to combat this pandemic
