This class introduced me to a different sector of the healthcare profession that I was completely unfamiliar with. I did not pay much attention to the management aspect of healthcare because I was mostly focused on the practice section. The many themes bring ideas that I found intriguing, and I hope to advance and position myself for a leadership role in my future profession. I came to understand that an organization's mission, vision, and value statements serve as a roadmap for its operations and ensure that its strategic objectives are met. I also learned about competitor analysis in this class. I am aware that the healthcare sector is undergoing
procedures. Since new players have been consistently entering the market as a result of these movements, the existing players must constantly analyze their competitors using tools like SWOT and others and rely on competitive advantages in order to survive. I will regularly undertake these studies to make sure that the organizations I lead maintain their competitiveness and command a sizeable market share because as a future healthcare management, I will be concerned with making sure the organizations I oversee are sustainable.
Whether or not the organization has to adjust its strategy will be determined by the routine competitive analyses. To ensure that the planning takes into account the interests of the important stakeholders, I will use the amount of strategic planning knowledge I have gained in this class to involve them.
