The Harlem Renaissance
When most hear the world Harlem, they think of it just being a borough of New York. But for
some African Americans Harlem is so much more. It's the Epitome of a cultural a movement of
music, art, literature, and fashion. Harlem was it factor for African Americans it was the place to
be during 40's to 60's. Then a downfall happens to Harlem the epidemic of heroin. Harlem
begin to lose its beauty, But the essence never died. One man decided to capture the dark side of
Harlem through photographs He force white Americans to confront their prejudice of African
American. His photographs displayed the grit, the pain of poverty structing families.
