Design and Typography in Branding

For my piece I went mostly original. I did use reference but for the most part I hand drew. I used warm brownish colors with white to associate with the brand of coffee and creamer. I'm not sure if the design is pleasing to look at but in my opinion it does its job of conveying the message that it's about coffee. With the messaging I determined that it is on brand, I used large white fonts on top of brown shading for emphasis. One thing I would like to do is make the message easier to understand. I felt that there was too much text in the design brief and if there wasn't I could make the message in bigger font and plaster both the logo and call to action in larger size for emphasis. That said, I at least hope the hierarchy of design works well. Looking at it now I added a lot of random shapes. I was afraid of the mandatory images from the video library, and didn't know how to add them in because I didn't understand we had to add them in until later on. I also felt that the white text could've been a nice cream color, but the restrictions on only black and white made it impossible to do so. Going forward I want to fix the typography and spread it around the image a lot more to use more of the space while deleting negative space. That said I think the colors look very pleasing and portray the message of a coffee shop being added to the community.
