When it comes to cloud-based tools, I can remember the first program I used for it being cloud-based was Google Documents. That had been useful in my first attempt at college when working on projects with people and being able to all work on and edit the same document. Now-a-days, using cloud-based tools is something I do daily. Google Drive and iCloud have become tools that without, there are many things I would not be able to do, the most obvious to me is storage space on devices. Most recently, I started taking advantage of "hey Google" with my Google Chromecast for navigation entertainment options and what not. A more niche example is in some video games I play, the game saves are being saved to the cloud instead of someone's local computer. While I don't have any experience, that I am aware of, using public cloud based services like AWS, but people I know in the technology field use this daily. Discuss how the cloud technology adoption process can affect users. With each of the four types of cloud deployment models, the user's perspective is really determined by how often they will interact with each model. For public models, if we are talking about the end user, the most important thing is that the service they are using that itself uses cloud service is benefitting from the public cloud. If they are visiting a website that is on an unreliable public cloud, it will affect their usage of the service. For the user choosing a cloud service, if they go with public, they have to worry about security risks and other risks of using a service available to the general public and no control over the hardware used. Private cloud models have less risk, since it is controlled by one organization or individual, but with the privacy comes high cost. The hybrid model is what most people have probably interacted with as
many companies use this model for its advantages. There are some situations in which a public cloud is most beneficial while having a private cloud to keep confidential information is also needed, which is why the hybrid model is used so often. Community clouds are good to connect those together in the same community, so while it is public, there is an added layer of trust from mutual interest. There is still the security risks as with public, but you would also hope those with mutual interest would be more trustworthy. When there is a need or want to set up a new cloud service, issues such as training on the new service to updating existing privacy and security rules are things that will become challenges during the process. Those setting up the new service should be aware of having to potentially change how they would with the cloud service as to be successful with what they
