A modern solution to this issue could very well be NoSQL (non-relational databases). When compared to SQL (relational databases), there are a few key differences between the two database types. First and foremost, the languages used in the database types differ slightly. SQL's database language is widely utilized and known and is most efficient with complex queries, however, the way that the data is presented is time consuming and requires organization before it can be used and understood by non-technical users. NoSQL database languages differ by allowing more flexibility and less time needed for planning and presentation of the data. A minor setback that comes with NoSQL database languages is that they tend to be inconsistent and are not as widely known or recognized.
