Memo To: Sparkles Software CEO From: Cheryl Hightower, Human Resources Generalist Date: January 8, 2024 Subject: Sales Training Plan for Existing and New Sales Plan overview The learning and development plan is a crucial tool that supports partnership between human resources and managers. The continuous improvement process of encouraging professional development by analyzing skills gaps in the business empowers employees with specific knowledge and skills that increase performance. The HR department's responsibility is to implement L&D (learning & development) initiatives that consider development at all levels of the company. HR managers are usually responsible for managing the development plan for the employees. Learning and development help bridge skills gaps, improve workplace culture, and increase engagement among employees and retentions rates. With developing new skills, employees can take on new roles in the organization and by this it can help the organization acquire, nurture, maximize, and retain talent, increasing employees and enhances the employee experience and potential decreasing turnover. The proposed learning and development plan addresses the organizational needs by identifying the business and design training programs that empower employee's specific knowledge and skills that increased performance. With the training it can lead to grater efficiency by improving the quality of work, reducing errors, and increasing productivity. Skills gaps are the specific needs that the training will address in the business, that can be identified through the training needs analysis (TNA), which is a process to identify the gap that's between the actual and the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) in a job. To identify training needs and skills a survey would be an effective way to apply and collect data. The survey data provides insight into specific skills gaps needing to be addressed and where the workforce may lack the necessary knowledge or skills.
