Tips to future students: 1. For the lab practicals:learn the taxonomy names by using mnemonics, whatever ridiculous connections help you remember them 2.For the field notebook:be as detailed as possible 3. For exams: start studying at least a week in advance, and make a study plan so you do a little each day

2.Write your notes or study material right after class. The material in the lecture is a lot so in an effort to not fall behind write them after you get out of class.
3. Read all guidelines for notebooks and iNat carefully, you will get points off for the littlest things. Make sure ALL of your photos go into other projects not just some.

A good rule of thumb is one hour of lecture or lab time should translate to 1 hour of studying outside of class 3. Study with people who want to make an A and not your friends who will distract you.
