Discussion/Comments: What makes a good cover letter/bad cover letter? Why do some
employers read cover letters and others don't?
I think what ultimately makes a strong cover letter is the professional structure and
presented information that it consists of. Considering the visual appeal and first couple
sentences will determine whether or not the employer believes you are value to their
time, they need to be presented with a clean, crisp, and strong display of your attributes
that is easy to read and gets straight to the point. Otherwise, they will take one look,
throw it away, and move onto the next applicant, not only throwing away who you are on
paper but also the opportunity to secure an interview.
