I agree with the idea of there being a skills gap with college graduates in the job industry
and I have found myself running into this issue now as I am browsing indeed and all the other hundreds of job search platforms. It almost seems, at least to me, that the jobs
restaurant waitstaff, grocery stores, etc., or else they are at a mid-high entry level with
various qualifications. This aspect is what I believe to be the most frustrating part of job-
hunting because although I am probably more than capable to perform in a given job
position regardless of whether or not I meet all of the "requirements" needed to do so,
seeing a crazy list of things you need to even qualify for before you're even considered
for the role, I end up skipping over it in doubt of being rejected when in reality that list of
nonsense probably doesn't even matter at all. All in all, I have probably missed many
opportunities solely due to the high level of expectations some employers possess
causing hesitation in myself and whether or not it would even matter if I did apply.
