Focus2 Assessment Reflection Paper
My initial reaction to my Focus2 Assessment results was that I was a little surprised
by some of the main aspects while I expected most of the assessments before taking it.
My Holland Code based off my assessment results was CIE, meaning my top attributes
of work interest are Conventional, Investigative, and Enterprising. These along with
artistic, social, and realistic aspects make up my own work interest assessment. All of
which I completely agree with because I have always naturally been an artistic, creative
and curious person. My Focus2 Assessment report overall insinuated that I have a vast
and diverse set of interests, values, and skillsets that I can use to my advantage when it
comes to being successful in future careers and opportunities.
Work interest areas like Conventional and Investigative fit me the best because it
revolves around organization and thinking which I believe make up a huge part of who I
am. When it comes to my day-to-day life, habits, tasks, and pretty much anything and
everything I come across, I have to handle it in a structured, organizational way otherwise
it will be nearly impossible to conquer. This part of me is something that often drives my
mom insane because she complains that I always take longer to do anything and I always
make it more complicated than it needs to be, which is true. However, by the time I finish
a task or something, she always takes it back by saying how good and/or nicely done it
is. I enjoy working most when it involves a definitive structure or organized activity
because it is easiest for me to understand which makes me able to work more efficiently
to get a better result. I like to test out different methods for different tasks and once I find
one that works for me it is unlikely that I change it because consistency is important to
me.
When it comes to areas of investigation, it is one of the main aspects I have always
held important to who I am. I have always been curious about everything around me; I
Iove learning new things about the world and all that is in it. I often feel the constant need
to know all the ins and outs of a given topic that I am researching or discussing because
I hate the feeling of confusion about whatever it is I am interested at the time. I like to
know all the facts, and the who, what, when, where, and whys because it allows me to
grasp the whole picture of something and gives me the ability to be able to transfer that
information to cross reference with other topics or situations.
Although I do believe the interests of Conventional and Investigative areas
perfectly fit me, I do not feel as though Enterprising, or persuading, is something of my
top interests. The only aspect I can see that fits is the influence of discussions and
competitions. I do
