Data Structures (proctored course) CS 3303

LEARNING JOURNAL, UNIT 6 CS3303-01 DATA STRUCTURES AY2022- T4. I started this week six learning by reading the material in the learning guide and watching videos that were uploaded in the learning guide. Our focus in this week learning includes "Internal Sorting Technique and Algorithms, and the topics includes , Sorting terminology and notation, Basic sorting algorithms (shellsort, mergosort quicksort, heapsort. And textbook recommended for this course is. Sha er, C. (2011). A Practical Introduction to Data Structures and Algorithm Analysis, Blacksburg: Virginia. Tech. I read the assigned chapter for the unit. I had to read through this chapter then read both chapters over and over before I was able to understand the content of this week learning. A lot of new terms and technical words were covered in the unit four. After I was done with the reading of the assigned topics, I watched the optional video attached to the course. The video was helpful, which I also went on research for additional materials for deeper understanding of the topics. It gave structure to what I read from the textbook. After that was done, I attempted the discussion forum questions. I made my entry and I graded my colleagues on the discussion forum as per requirement. My reaction to the week's studies is positive. I am learning about new and unfamiliar concepts and will hopefully learn more as the course progresses. Sorting algorithms are very essential in most computer science applications The feedback I got from my classmates was quite supportive and constructive in nature. I made a list of the things I need to work on. These constructive criticisms are helpful because they help me improve in the area of concern. I attempted the self-quiz for the unit. My feelings and attitude have always been positive and will continue to be positive towards my studies. I must admit, it can be so overwhelming and challenging sometimes, but the beauty of it is that it gets me out of my comfort zone and challenges me more. I know the course will get more It is getting more technical as it advances, but I know that with the right attitude and the determination to learn, it is doable. The last thing I am thinking of in relation to this week's activities is to revisit recommended for this (Course) learning. Reference: Sha er, C. (2011).
