Describe how the skeletal characteristics of the joint affect the movement or lack thereof. The "Pivot Joint" among the joints in the human body Is the one I have chosen to examine in detail since it is also the most basic and crucial joint in the body and is defined as the rounded end of one bone precisely fitting into a ring produced by the other bone. Additionally, this enables fundamental rotational movement functions, such as those of the wrist, neck vertebrae, forearms, and knees. The pivot joint, on the other hand, is a joint that only permits slight rotation about its own axis and is made of a second bone and an adjacent ligament (trochoid-joint). On the one hand, the ring spins around the cylinder at some joints, whereas in others, the cylinder rotates inside the ring. The joint (Pivot) that connects the Atlas and the axis under the skull and permits side-to-side head rotation is an example of this joint. The joint also enables the forearm bones to act in a twisting motion against the upper arm, which is used to unscrew the lids of jars, according to The Encyclopedia Britannica Editors (2020). a well-known fibrous tissue that permits bone rotation in the pivot ring and is later changed into a particular kind of cartilage to provide a surface that covers and safeguards the ends of the linked bones. Two or more bone ends and their cartilage are hermetically sealed by a membrane to form a sort of living capsule (Encyclopedia Medicine, 2020). Additionally, there is a little space between the two bones' cartilages inside the membrane capsule, and this space is filled with synovial fluid, a pale yellow fluid that lubricates every joint in the human body. In order to perform a specific function of movement, the body can make joints slide over one another smoothly thanks to synovial fluid, which prevents the bones from crushing against one another and automobile engine, for example, is an analogue of this fluid because it prevents lust for jamming between the metals. Furthermore, due to the cartilage at the end of the bone lacks and the other element nutrients that keep the cartilage robust, alive, and healthy. This is because some of the fluids are absorbed by the cartilage. The three physiological words described the way the human joint system is functionally organized. 1. Diarthroses; The joint in question can move freely. Additionally, it permits movements contained to a single anatomical plane, such as those at the wrist joint (Betts et al., 2013). 2. Synovial; Particularly in synovial joints is synovial fluid prevalent. This can be found in the knee joint and its main function is to reduce friction and smooth rotational motion (Betts et al., 2013) 3.
