Obesity and Nutrition

WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT UNIT 6 HS 2611 - NUTRITION UNIVERSITY OF THE PEOPLE KELI ANN BERES (INSTRUCTOR) 2021 Obesity has been a major source of worry around the world for many years. This sickness has spread to the point where both young and old people are affected. Obesity arises when people do not think about how much they eat or what they eat. Obesity is more common in low-income and low-education populations, as well as ethnic minorities and areas with a larger percentage of poverty, according to most research. Obesogenic, according to Zimmerman and Snow, is a condition in which people consume enormous amounts of unhealthy foods while doing little physical activity. the year 2012 (Zimmerman and Snow). The dietary groups that promote this condition the most are sugars, fats, and refined grains, and it is evident that most of these foods are not expensive at all, in fact, they are rather affordable, making it easier for people to obtain and consume them, as well as being more convenient. It is straightforward for people to gain weight quickly under this situation. People who consume foods high in added sugars for an extended period of time gain weight and eventually develop health concerns such as obesity, chronic heart disease, and diabetes. Obesity is linked to sugary meals like sweets, baked goods, drinks, high-sugar cereals, and others. Sugary foods can cause weight gain in a variety of ways, which is unhealthy for one's health. They're calorie-dense, which is terrible. Because of the high calorie content, you gain a lot of weight eating these meals, but you don't obtain any other vital nutrients. Added sugars can be found in corn syrup, ice cream, cookies, and a range of other meals. Consumption of these added sugars on a regular basis can cause blood sugar and hormone levels to rise. leading to weight gain and insulin resistance, in which the body is unable to store energy 2 properly, causing insulin and sugar levels to rise, causing problems in the body where cells do not function properly. The body's fat level rises as a result of this. The function of leptin, which is supposed to cut down the feeling of hunger, is disrupted when blood sugar and insulin levels are high prompting the person to quit eating regularly. When leptin levels are altered, however, a person's appetite is unrestricted because they are never satiated. Many people do not engage in physical activity, and because contemporary civilization has made things easier--there are more autos and escalators, as well as more television time-people are more attached to their televisions and, more recently, their phones all day. These goods can cause people to acquire weight due to their inactive lifestyle. Furthermore, restricting one's diet to foods with added sugars, refined grains, and beverages limits the body from absorbing important nutrients like protein, fiber, vitamins, healthy fats. and minerals, all of which aid in body function. Antioxidants, which protect cells from free radical damage, are lacking in these added-sugar diets. Thi
