COURSE FORMAT Seminar-style discussions; primarily student-led. 2. COURSE DESCRIPTION In this course, students in the blockchain pathway will explore key advances in blockchain research from a multidisciplinary perspective. Students will each select a key advance in blockchain from their discipline and lead a multidisciplinary discussion on it. In addition, students will work, with the guidance of their course instructor and peer feedback, to develop the design of their own unique research projects to be undertaken with Blockchain@UBC industry and/or community partners. Through selected presentations from guest speakers, students will receive training on writing grant proposals and on aspects of managing research projects in professional settings, such as project management and working as part of multidisciplinary teams. 3. BACKGROUND ASSUMPTION Students are expected to have very basic knowledge of blockchain technology, which it is expected will deepen throughout the term as they progress in their other required blockchain graduate pathway courses. 4.
