Becoming bored with the movie, Ariana and Brienne went outside to sit on the front porch of the Starke residence. From this position they could see across the road into the loungeroom of the house across the street. Ariana told Brienne that the people who lived in that house, Mr and Mrs Varris, were 'complete arseholes' and that their dog would frequently defecate on the Starke's front lawn. Ariana put the laser pointer back in her pocket, and then the two girls ran inside and told Ariana's parents that Mr Varris was in the street threatening to "bash" the girls. Ben Starke grabbed a cricket bat from the loungeroom floor and said, "I'm going out and breaking that prick's face!" Sissy got a
carving knife from the kitchen and followed Ben out into the street shouting, "Punch his lights out Ben!" As Ben came close to Mr Varris, he threw the cricket bat at his head with full force. Mr Varris ducked, and the bat narrowly missed him, but it hit Mrs Varris (who was standing behind him looking shocked
