Strategies for Improving Cash Flow and Cost Management

Potential budget analysis - Improve collection of cash from debtors e.g. make cash sales or offer incentives for fast payments - Look at ways of reducing operational costs e.g. try to better credit terms, split payments of long term assets, target the highest costs to reduce, discount for fast payments? Economies of scale - Consider alternative ways of financing acquisition of new machinery - can payment be spread more evenly? Can you lease rather than buy outright? - Purchases - quarterly in adverse? Could you split and pay every month to reduce large payments within one month? - Liaise with bank in advance? Potential long term loan, overdraft. However, this will have an interest expense. - Have better sales credit terms - payment within 1 month or half cash half payment within a month - reduce wait time for payment
