I. INTRODUCTION Introduction to Management (MGT10001) provides knowledge on basic management skills in the workplace, solutions to management problems as well as how to manage and work effectively in diverse environments. In this assessment, after seeing a video about conflict management, I will select a scene to write a reflective essay using the management concepts I have learned during the semester. The workplace required professionalism and innovation, so everyone is striving to show how valuable they are to the company they work for, which leads to arguments. Conflict management is an essential skill that entails resolving disagreements to achieve a positive outcome in the workplace while respecting everyone's demands and expectations. (Burton-Hughes, L., 2017). My essay will focus on the conflict resolution scenario between two characters: Kim Cooper and Nelson, the scene is from 19:02 to 24:30 minutes in the video. After the brief analysis, there will be a discussion of how the demonstrated behavior affects organizational performance in that situation, as well as how I apply management concepts to achieve positive change. Finally, there is a mindmap that connects the scenarios examined and the concepts used. II. IMACTS OF THE BEHAVIOUR DEMONSTRATED IN THE SCENARIO ON ORGANISATIONAL PERFORMANCE The scene begins when Kim Cooper calls Nelson into her office to discuss after finding mistakes in the documents he submitted to her earlier. In the previous scenes, many theories have been made for Nelson about ways to solve the conflict between Kim and him which are not comprehensive and lead to many adverse consequences for him. After expressing anger towards Kim in his mind: "What's her problem now? She's always at me. But if I ever need anything, like say a day off next week, no. She can't help.", Nelson began to calm down and assessed the situation that being mad at Kim only made things worse. So, he started gathering all the information to resolve the conflict like calling colleagues, checking old email communications, investigating recently completed works and he found out that Kim is under a lot of pressure to get the website up. Nelson made his position clear by understanding his desire to choose the most appropriate strategy for conflict resolution. After Kim Cooper's criticism, Nelson began to lose control of his behavior and words, but he quickly apologized by making positive suggestions to break the spiral of conflict.
