Team Effectiveness and Project Management Strategies

Effectiveness: During both RB and TER, I think I was quite consistent and beneficial for the project. I first started with understanding the missions and guidelines of the projects which give me a better understanding of the purpose of doing the assessment. Then, I started to set the goal that I want to achieve and come up with plans and strategies of what I need to do during the projects and ensure I have enough time to complete the works so there would not be any performance gap in the team. As we used a tracker to track the overall progress, I also need to make sure that I updated my task status so other members would easily know which tasks were finished and what need to be done. For team, RB, we started with understanding missions and guideline, then set the goals that we wish to achieve. After that, we start to delegate the projects into smaller tasks. The delegation of tasks was proficient because it's clear who is responsible for which tasks. We decide at beginning who find the terms, design title page, make infographic, and reference list. Even though most of the tasks are similar to each other, we try to be managing diversity and It's clear which tasks each member has. Right after that, we informed everyone the deadlines of the report by using our communication channel (messengerft so everyone is awareness when they should complete their works. The RB team was a benchmark for effectiveness. There was less Free Riding in the smaller team. It was clear who was delegated which task, so it was harder to hide. This also shows how the smaller team was easier to coordinate due to less members, and this helped us achieve our goals. We can see that coordination to achieve goals was more difficult in the larger team, as it allowed members to free ride without easily being identified. For TER, teacher use authority delegated by Swinburne and plans out for the projects then using the chain of command to delegate task for each of us. But we have to decide which tasks we want to in charge of. For every step of TER process, we have the right to choose the works we want to complete, however we have to make sure that it's not the same factor that we did before. when the tasks were assigned, there was a level of trust and expectation assigned to each member. We have to know that working as team required you to have reliability and works can only complete and meet standard of performance when working as a team not individual. Plans: Both projects were begin with planning out the process, so it's easy to work during the projects and everyone is clear about the goals that we set. For RB, right from the beginning, we didn't have any contingency plan, however what we do was ask every member to complete their works early so we can have time
