Business Process and Information Systems Analysis for UMC

UNITED MILK COMMODITIES (UMC) Business Scenario Report Elloise Smith | Introduction to Business Information Systems | 25/05/2020 Executive Summary This report provides an analysis of the effects and impacts business processes, complementary technologies and information systems have upon United Milk Commodities (UMC). UMC is analysed through business intelligence and the assessment of raw data from 2016-2017 with predictive analysis for 2018. Additionally, UMC is evaluated through business process modelling, which utilises an 'as-is' and 'proposed to-be' business process model. This demonstrates how effective processes are required for the successful implementation of a user interface ordering system. Through the introduction of information technology systems; usage of customer analysis through web analytics, social network analysis and customer relationship management; and the protection of consumer information a web-based application for UMC is essential for their competitive advantage and success for expansion in the future. This web-based application allows customers to order and view promotional material and provides UMC with the ability to automate processing. Built within this system is a portable delivery driver system which enables electronic signoffs and e-invoices. To ensure the safety of information within this system cybersecurity and privacy policies are required to be created and maintained by UMC. 1 | Page Table of Contents Executive Summary. 1 1.
