Outline This assignment requires you to demonstrate your understanding of the basic concepts and context of Business Processes and Business Process Management from both a theoretical and practical level. The project includes two stages, stage 1 (assignment 1) and stage 2 (assignment 2). Stage 1 (assignment 1), you should provide a report (aimed at the management and staff of the organisation) which requires you to: . Discuss the current business process issues/problems. There are many issues/problems in the current process (which you can identify based on the process descriptions). You must use references to support your arguments. . For each issue selected, state the Best Practices (please check lesson 3 overview for details) you will apply (you should consider at least 2 best practices for each problem/issue to compare). For each Best Practice, describe how it is applied and explain how your solution solves or improves the problem identified. You must use references to support your arguments. At this stage, do not consider technologies and automation. Best Practices should align with the process models presented. . Construct models for the current processes (please read details in the tasks description section, models should be presented using BPMN level 2 for the current AS-IS processes). All models should highlight the current problems (your selections) and suggest areas for potential improvements but do not provide TO-BE models at this stage. If management concurs with your report, they intend to hire you to complete stage 2 (Assignment 2) to make detailed recommendations for improvement by adopting methodologies, a detailed recommendation(s) for long-term improvement of using BPM technologies and considering automation solutions.
