Topic 1: Using examples from your personal experience, explain how the process of mediatization has significantly affected three different aspects of your life. Your response should be based on the material presented in Week 2. During the second week of this semester, I had an opportunity to accelerate my understanding of the theory of mediation as well as its essential function in subsequent research. As we can see, this is because media communication is connected to a wide variety of shifts and forms of participation in the world. It is not just the process itself that exports these changes through the media; rather, it is also the media's continuing impact on the changes that are occurring. There is no denying that mediatization4one of the four-meta processes4goes beyond, as it makes a significant contribution to reshaping all aspects of society. After having researched the topic, I believe that I have been actively participating in the process of mediatization in every aspect of my life. First and foremost, on the basis of mediatization and social media, I have witnessed a dramatic change in the way people make decisions and communicate. One good illustration of its outcomes is the bandwagon effect4a psychological phenomenon in which the tendency of individuals to conform their thoughts and actions to those of the majority of people in a given group is enhanced (INVESTOPEDIA 2019). According to the findings of a recent study, more than one-third of vacationers are currently publishing their travel experiences on virtual networks. These tourists share their experiences through blogs, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook pages, as well as a variety of photos and written pieces (Kusina, 2013). According to the research carried out by Goley and Choreva, more than half of the people who use Facebook decide where they want to go on vacation after looking at pictures uploaded to the internet. Furthermore, more than 52% of people who chose their travel destination after consulting online resources have changed their minds. (Choreva & Golev, 2016). Like others, in real life, I also have a tendency to choose most of the five-star services that are pointed out by reviewers on Tiktok and switch hotel reservations as well as airlines after reading feedback on Booking.com. I frequently neglected a myriad of services that received criticism or one-star points. These behaviors are also believed to be as a result of the impact of the bandwagon effect. Thanks to the process of mediatization and the bandwagon effect contributing to enabling me to be more intelligent in making decisions, there are still a myriad of unfavorable consequences. When the shortcomings of others become tempting "bait" for condemnation and criticism, social networks have the potential to become a fertile ground for the spread of evil. On a daily basis, a significant number of people have the pattern of making
malicious jokes and comments on social networking sites. They are completely unconcerned about the repercussions of their harsh comments. There was a case not too long ago in which a girl
