Arnott's Brand Evolution and Health-Conscious Product Strategy

Arnott's information Arnott's is an Australian company that was opened in 1847, by a Scottish immigrant William Arnott who opened a bakery in Morpeth, New South Wales, over 150 years later, the client is a well-known Australian company that mas manufacturers traditional Australian biscuits and snack foods that are well integrated into Australia's culture. The client's head office and factories are based in Sydney. They are an iconic brand for most Australian individuals and are deeply rooted in the identity of Australia in the 20th and 21st centuries. These biscuits include the iconic Australian cultural food, the Tim Tam, and others like Monte Carlo, Kingston, chocolate ripple, and butternut snaps. They make about 1,045+ assorted products, which also range from items outside the biscuit brand, including soups, stocks, meal bases, beverages pasta sauces, cereals, and other snack items. The brand also has manufacturing operations in New Zealand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. They have over 190 suppliers and 75% of their items are locally sourced from either Australia or New Zealand, which they pride themselves on. This also plays into the connotation of a "traditional" Australian brand they have presented themselves. In Australia, the brand holds about 64% of the biscuit manufacturing market but the rise in popularity of alternative products has led to a small downfall of the brand's market. With the current climate and changes in disposable income, people are less likely to purchase these products in the current post-COVID world, and the increase in the production and raw material costs such as sugar lends the business to be in harder times than they usually are from previous years. a new crucial factor that is also changing the brand's identity is the Australian government's partnership reformulation program which aims to improve the nutritional value of processed food, which directly correlates to the client's current production of products that directly correlates to the state's current program. This leads them to start a whole new branding strategy with new product lines that highlight the 5-star Australian health rating, specifically having each product be above the 3.5 health-star rating with added benefits to the consumer, which makes the product appear to be a more beneficial product to the consumer.
