Some of the world's population has just started living on the moon. You are a team of problem solvers working back here on planet Earth to help society transition to the new way of life. You are contracted to design a low-tech, cheap, and reliable logistics system to move cargo across the newly colonized moon's bumpy surface. Society is still being established, and some products and services are limited on the moon. For instance, transport and vehicles are still being adapted and developed to work with the moon's terrain, and infrastructure, such as roads, is still being established. Factories with manufacturing capabilities exist; however, they are far away from the nearest roads and railways. You realize if you can launch the cargo off the moon's surface through a catapult, the lesser gravity and no atmosphere will assist it in travelling greater distances than that back here on Earth. Hence, it will overcome the limitations imposed by the lack of available infrastructure. Once each cargo reaches its destination, robots scan their surface using tactile sensors to identify the owners by team name. Your Task: Your task is to propose a solution concept for a logistics system that can catapult cargo, as well as its accompanying 3D identification label. You will need to show evidence of prototyping of your design ideas as well as justification for your final concept. You will need to provide an accompanying written rationale document for your final solution to send to the residents on the moon so that they can consider using your idea to build their own logistics system on-site. Considerations & Constraints: . Your hypothetic logistics system needs to catapult cargo so that it can be loaded into vehicles for transport to nearby residents · Your cargo is a combined food and vital medicinal kit packaged in a protective spherical container . To ensure your cargo can be identified, you will need to label the spherical container with a 3D design of a symbol representing your team's name. Imagining the labels are to be made out of flexible silicone, your label can be flat when you design it and would be bent to fit around your cargo if it were designed in real life. 2
