This ability allows us to predict and explain others actions and behaviour according to Dr.Trevarthen which is very important to children developing understanding of the mind. This essay will highlight some tests of false belief whether they are effective and their limitations and domains of study such as language by describing studies that have been done to test children and measure their theory of mind. ‘ Language and theory of mind are similar and interact in some ways, young children of 2-4 years old start to comprehend information others tell them and ask for things they desire such as sweets. We know this as young children have the ability to begin to speak at the age between 2-4 years old, unless they have disorders such as autism, which means they would listen and able to hold a conversations with others.As children develop, their language will develop too as parents behaviour especially mother who talk about mental states will help child in the theory of mind development and their child language ability according to a study by Dr. Ruffman, this study indicates that the environment of the childrens' family is important at the early stage of development. It was observed that paternal mental state talk with their child will change the child's mental state 1 or 2 years later. Many factors can affect a child's mental state and this study also examined the causal role of exposure that infants can have within the family and the outside world such as the community.
