Kanza Ahmad Demonstration Speech I. Introduction: a. The nature of the demo: i. Origami means: "Ori" = to fold "Kami"= paper and was originated in either China or Japan, but became more famous in the Japanese Culture. ii. It was only used by the Buddhists to perform religious ceremonies because paper had a very high price. Origami then started appearing in Japanese weddings to represent the bride and groom and in other forms as good luck. It was later introduced into Europe in the 19th century for the kids of kindergarten to better child development. iii. In the modern era, no certification is required; in fact anyone can create origami from YouTube or just searching origami designs on Google. One of the most famous designs in the Japanese crane, and according to legend, if you fold 1000 cranes, you'll have your heart's desire come true b. Safety Factors: i.WARNING, there might be some paper cuts involved in this procedure c. What is needed for the Demonstration: i. Tools: An origami sheet + Your folding skills 11. Body: a. Steps to create the witches claw: b. Start with a 6in by 6in square paper color side down c. Fold the paper in half on the diagonal axis d. Fold paper in half on the diagonal axis again e. One more diagonal fold f. Make a vertical alley fold. Crease well and then unfold. g. Tuck the right tip into the pocket h. Tuck the tip all the way into the pocket i. Now put them on! 111.
