My Teaching Assistant position last semester was for an "Introduction to Research in Mathematics" course for undergraduates. The students worked in teams on research projects given to them by the professor, and I helped guide them by encouraging them to pursue various lines of inquiry when stuck.
I was also extremely active in the peer tutoring program in math, physics, and computer science as an undergraduate (over 100 one-hour sessions held); and in my PhD thus far have mentored two undergraduate research projects and a high school research project.
Vertical Asymptote In your own words, describe what is meant by a vertical asymptote of a graph.
$$f(x)=\frac{1}{x+2}$$
$$f(x)=\sec \frac{\pi x}{4}$$
$$f(x)=\frac{-1}{x-4}$$
$$f(x)=\frac{-1}{(x-4)^{2}}$$
$$f(x)=\frac{x}{x^{2}-9}$$
