Biography

I am a student at the Texas Academy of Math and Science and I hope to pursue a career in medicine or research. I am very interested in genetics and potentially would like to become an MD/PHD in the field of embryology and genetics. I would like to continue research at the University of North Texas or University of Texas of Southwestern and do well in colleges that I would like to go to in the future. I plan on going to undergraduate college and graduate college to earn that knowledge that can help me help others, which is my passion. I want to also make myself interact with not only people who are in my comfort zone but even more. When I get the opportunity, I plan to go to underprivileged places and serve them to get myself as the outreach for people without much support or knowledge and the healthcare system. I am also very interested in art history.

Ants carry dead ants out of the anthill and dump them on a "trash pile." If a live ant is painted with a chemical from dead ants, other ants repeatedly carry it, kicking and struggling, to the trash pile, until the substance wears off. Which of the following best explains this behavior?
a. The chemical triggers a fixed action pattern.
b. The ants have become imprinted on the chemical.
c. The ants continue the behavior until they become habituated.
d. The ants can learn only by trial and error.
