This is my second quarter TA'ing for an introductory biology lab at UC San Diego. The lab introduces basic biology laboratory techniques such as pipetting and running gels. We also teach concepts, mainly focusing basic molecular biology, like PCR, cloning, and a bit of bioinformatics.
This quarter, the lab has moved entirely online, so we've focused a lot more on teaching these concepts over Zoom using presentations slides and drawing tablets, so I've gained a lot of experience in that regard.
