Sharon Edamala

Lawrence University
Teaching Assistant

Biography

Hi! I recently graduated with a B.A. in Biology and Psychology. I am interested in this position because I aspire to be a science communicator that gets others excited about science. I have experience tutoring students from a variety of backgrounds (i.e. elementary to undergraduate levels) and have tutored students consistently since high school. I would love to continue to tutor students because it helps me review concepts for the MCAT which will be taking in the near future.

At Lawrence University, I was most recently a teaching assistant for our Psychology of Gender class. I frequently Zoomed with students to explain abstract concepts, improve study skills, and grade homework. I was also a Biology Lab Assistant for an introductory biology class during which I also helped students understand and apply important biological concepts. During my undergraduate career, I served as a peer-tutor for these areas: Developmental Psychopathology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Immunology, and Biology (Organisms to Ecosystems). I also worked with high school students in the Appleton area with general chemistry, AP Biology, and AP Psychology.
