Many of the biochemical tests we did in lab relied on a pH
change to make a conclusion about bacterial growth or identity.
Which one of these tests did NOT rely on a pH change?

Although certain nutrients play a larger role than others in promoting a healthy immune system, there is no single "immune-boosting" nutrient. Rather, a vast array of nutrients that are found in a balanced, nourishing diet work synergistically to keep the immune system strong.

From the list below, choose all the correct statements about immune function.
Select all that apply.
- Zinc is required for enzyme activation for B and T cell proliferation.
- Essential fatty acids are needed for the production of immune system eicosanoids.
- Vitamin E is also known as the "anti-infective vitamin."
- Deficiencies in nutrients such as protein must be severe and of long duration before they impair immune function.
- Taking iron supplements during infection enhances the immune response.

2. A) Explain the process (NOT
a definition!) of the 'Greenhouse Effect' relative
to atmospheric warming.
B) Describe two global consequences
of atmospheric warming (climate change).
3. Explain two methods of air
pollution control based on the principle
of separating the pollutant from the air.

Identify the location and name the 1st step involved in
protein synthesis. In as much
detail as possible, explain what is occurring during
this step. Use a picture to support
your explanation. (2 points)

color-blind man and a woman
who is homozygous dominant for the trait be normal? (2

What are the possible genotypes of the offspring from a mating
of two people who are both heterozygous for PTC tasting and
Earwax?
PTC is a naturally occurring chemical in dark green vegetables
that give them a bitter taste
PTC tasting is expressed dominantly. Tasters are either
homozygous dominant or heterozygous.
The inability to taste PTC is inherited as homozygous
recessive.
Earwax appears in two forms either yellow and sticky or dry and
flaky.
Yellow sticky earwax is expressed dominantly. So those
with yellow sticky earwax are either homozygous dominant or
heterozygous.
Dry flaky ear wax is expressed as a homozygous recessive.
After creating your punnet square tell me the following:
How many of the offspring out of the total possible genotypes
will be able to taste PTC and have dry flaky earwax?
How many of the offspring out of the total possible genotypes
will be able to not taste PTC and will have yellow sticky
earwax?
How many of the offspring out of the total possible genotypes
will be heterozygous for both traits?

Because the structure of DNA, and the need to faithfully
transmit DNA sequence from generation to generation, is conserved
across all life on earth, repair mechanisms are also conserved and
humans utilize the same mechanism to repair thymine dimers as do
bacteria.

True
False
