Nicole Smina

Fordham University
Chemistry teacher (high school)

Biography

My name is Nicole Smina. I am currently living in New York City and pursuing a PhD in theoretical chemistry at New York University (NYU). I fell in love with chemistry in 10th grade and began to tutor, and since then I knew I wanted to spend my life teaching chemistry. I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from Fordham University, where I also minored in mathematics. I then taught chemistry at the high school level in Miami, FL; eventually, my goal is to become a college professor. Outside of chemistry and academics, I love lifting weights, yoga, spending time at the beach (whenever the NYC weather allows!), and writing poetry. I have a passion for vanilla-flavored iced coffee and anything that is blue.
