Biography

I am recently retired (this week) after 32 years of teaching mathematics. I have taught successfully in the high school and college classroom and virtually through Cobb Virtual Academy. I am very eager to start phase 2 of my career, which I hope will involve mathematics instruction and/or curriculum-building with a flexible and remote platform. I tend to be an over-achiever and perfectionist, but not to a fault. I believe I could be an asset to your program and am excited to learn more!

NAVIGATION A boat race runs along a triangular course marked by buoys $A$, $B$, and $C$. The race starts with the boats headed west for 3700 meters. The other two sides of the course lie to the north of the first side, and their lengths are 1700 meters and 3000 meters. Draw a figure that gives a visual representation of the situation, and find the bearings for the last two legs of the race.
