Blinding in Experiments
Blinding is a method used in experimental research to prevent bias by ensuring that participants, and sometimes the researchers, are unaware of which treatment each subject is receiving. In a single-blind method, participants are unaware, while a double-blind method ensures that both participants and experimenters remain unaware of treatment assignments.
Scope of Conclusions
This concept relates to how far the findings of a study can be generalized. It considers whether the study can support causal claims (as in well-designed experiments) or whether it is limited to finding associations (as in observational studies), and it takes into account the design limitations and population sampled.
Experimental Design Structures (Completely Randomized, Blocked, Matched)
