Question five is a pretty straightforward calculation. One thing that you need to consider is the density of water. If we have 25 mL of water, this means we have 25 g of water. This is important so that we can use the specific heat of water in order to calculate the calories of energy that were transferred to the water by the cereal. Flake que then will be equal to the specific heat of water. One calorie per gram degree Celsius multiplied by the mass of the water, 25 g multiplied by the change in temperature. It increased six degrees Celsius. This then gives us the calorie content of heat transferred to the water by the cereal flake. 150 calories.
