A laser beam is reflected by a plane mirror. It is observed that the angle between the incident and reflected beams is $28^{\circ} .$ If the mirroris now rotated so that the angle of incidence increases by $5.0^{\circ},$ whatis the new angle between the incident and reflected beams?
$38^{\circ}$

question once is a laser beam is reflected by a plane neared. Its observed that the angle between the incident and reflected beams is 28 degrees, and then it's going to change. So here's my mirror. And remember, we actually measure angles of incidence, an angle of reflection relative to a normal. And so a normal is a line perpendicular to the service. And I'm gonna go ahead and have my incident right comes in hits at the normal, and then it is reflected out. And it told us that, uh, the angle between the incident and reflected race is 28 degrees, so this angle is 28 degrees. Which means, of course, since the angle of incidence is equal to the angle of reflection, this angle is 14 degrees. So then it says that the mirror's now rotated so that the angle of incidence increases by five degrees. So in our new scenario now, instead of a 14 degree angle of incidence, we have a 19 degree angle of incidence, so this comes in a little bit different angle 19 degrees. Of course, that means it's reflected out at 19 degrees relative to the normal, and that gets us Ah, whole angle of 38 degrees. Which is the answer to the question, which said, What is the new angle between the incident and reflective beams?
