In this problem, we're told that there are two events happening in a given frame.

And then we are also told that there in the second frame moving either to the left or to the right, or towards or away from the origin, such that in that frame, the two events seen from the first frame appear to be simultaneous.

So what does it actually mean? so simultaneously in special relativity means that some things have the same space time coordinate, essentially, or the same time coordinate, right? so what that means then is that we're going to have these tilted axes, right? if something is moving, then a, there's going to be, it's going to have tilted axes by some angle delta, making the angle delta with both the x -prime makes the angle delta with the x -exis, and the ct prime axis makes the angle delta of in the c t -axis.

So then what it means for the two events to be simultaneous is that they have to occur at the same ct prime coordinate, i .e.

They have to line, they have to lie on a line in that coordinate frame where essentially the two points occur on the same line...
