And so this one says the supermarket just increased the price at which it sells a court of milk by twenty percent. How many quarts of milk can now be purchased for the amount of money that is used to buy thirty quarts of milk? So we know that we have. The situation that we have is that we have ordered milk, and we initially had bought thirty of those, but now they're changing the price and they're up selling it by twenty percent. And so they're wondering, Well, how many courts of milk maybe can we buy with the same amount of money? So because we know it's more expensive, we do know that it has to be. We could only by less than thirty quarts of milk, because it is more expensive. So let's go out and try to set up an equation. And let's go ahead and assign some variables. So that's going to call X the initial price because then we can say that the initial price times thirty it should equal the amount of money that was used to buy the thirty quarts of milk. So let's call that wife and we know that this works because if there's thirty cartons of milk, if we had paid one dollar for each of them, we would do one type one dollar times thirty and we'd be paying thirty dollars. So then what's going on? Set one more variable Z and we're going to call that the number of a quartz that weakened by after the price race two. So now we know that the price the new price is going to be twenty percent increase of the initial price. So if it's a twenty percent increase, that means that it's now one hundred twenty percent of the original price, so we could represent that as one point two. As in, here's the twenty percent because zero point two is equal to twenty percent expressed in decimals. So we can say one point two x because now that is the price of one gallon after the price race. And then we could say this is the price and multiplied by the number of courts which is R Z should equal line because again we want to spend the same amount of money as before. So then we can, because we know that this is why and this is why now I have a system of equations and we consent thes two equal to each other because here is that why? And here's a way so that we can say thirty x is equal to one point two x times Z. So Izzy is what we're looking for because that's the number of courts after the price race. So let's go in and try to isolate that. So we're trying to isolate this. We want to get this part over to the other side. So we're gonna go ahead and divide both sides by one point two x If we do that. The reason why this works out is because not only does this cancel out, but these exes also cancel out. So then we know that Z is just going to be thirty divided by one point two. And if we calculate that out, it's gonna be twenty five. So we know that after the price freeze, this person could only by twenty four twenty five quarts of milk
