We want to determine how much money the typical American household spends on food. So we know that food, uh, costs about 2/15 of the American income. And since the American income is$45,000 um, we can multiply these fractions together if we make it 45,000 over one. This will give us two times 45,000 over 15. This 15 here can simplify with the 45,000 giving us 3000 instead. So now that we have two times 3000 this is obviously going to be 6000. So about \$6000 to spend every single year in America on food.
