Question 45.
00:02
A study is dr.
00:03
That asks the following question, does eating chocolate during pregnancy impact an infant's temperament at six months? and so they follow 305 healthy pregnant women, and these women report how much chocolate they eat, whether it's on a daily basis or weekly, etc.
00:21
And then six minutes after baby is born, mothers rate their infant's temperament on different factors that they present, such as smilingness, for example.
00:31
And so they conclude that a mother's who has consumed chocolate daily during pregnancy produces or has a child that's more active, more positively reactive, therefore having a better temperament.
00:45
So in this case, the first question asks, what type of study is this? is this an experiment or is this observational? this is observational because we're solely doing the study based off of what the pregnant mothers are reporting.
00:58
We're not for having the mothers have a certain amount of chocolate.

And therefore creating different control treatments.
01:06
Instead, we are just observing what they eat and how the outcome, how the child acts...
