Calculate the contact angle $\theta$ for olive oil if capillary action raises it to a height of 7.07 $\mathrm{cm}$ in a glass tube with a radius of 0.100 $\mathrm{mm}$ . Is this value consistent with that for most organic liquids?
$\theta=5.14^{\circ} \mathrm{No},$ does not consistent with that for most organic liquids.

we know that the height raised due to Capitol reaction is H. This is equally two times the service tension times the co sign of fate of the contact angle divided by the density times acceleration due to gravity. Times are the radius of the tube we can then solve for the contact angle. This would be equally mark co sign of the height raised due to capital. A reaction times the density times acceleration due to gravity times are the radius of the tube divided by two times the surface tension and so theater will be equaling Arc Co sign of the height, which we know to be 7.7 centimeters, or point 0707 meters multiplied by 920 kilograms per cubic meter. This would be the density of olive oil multiplied by 9.80 meters per second. Squared times the radius of the tube we know to be 0.10 millimeter or we can say one times 10 to the negative forth meters, so 0.1 millimeter. This would be divided by two times of surface tension. Two times the surface tension of 20.32 Newtons per meter, and we find that then the contact angle theta is equaling approximately 5.1 degrees. This would be our final answer for the contact angle. Is this value consistent with that? For most organic fluids? Yes, it is, yes. This value. It is consistent with organic fluids. That is the end of the solution. Thank you for
