All righty, so we are here, chapter 17, number 9, and we're given this table, which gives us four types of rnas and then some functions, or one function, and we're supposed to fill in the functions for the rnas listed and vice versa.
00:20
So what is the function of mrna? well, mrna stands for messenger rna, right? so it carries the information specifying immune acid sequences of polypeptides from the dna to ribosomes, right? from dna to ribosomes.
00:49
So that's how it gets its name of being a messenger.
00:51
And then we have the t rna.
00:53
And what is the t stand for? what's transfer rna? and so that's a translator molecule in protein synthesis really what it's doing is it's translating so it's translating the m rna codons into amino acids and so then we have a definition next which tells us in a ribosome plays a structural role but like as a ribosome plays a catalytic role catalyzing these like peptide bonds and so that's our r rna and you know these first letters are kind of your hints here because the r and r r r rna stands for ribosomal...
