We know that $P_{2}$ is the space of all polynomials of degree 2 or less, so a basis for $P_{2}$ is $\{1, t, t^{2}\}$. Since we want the subspace orthogonal to $f(t)=t$, we remove $t$ from the basis. So, a basis for the subspace is $\{1, t^{2}\}$.
