for this problem, we need to fill out a table. And in order to fill out this table, we need to know about Allah. God Rose number. So what is Alba cadres? Number precisely. It is 6.22 times 10 to the 23. That's just an amount. 6.22 times 10 to 23 is just a number, but it is tied strongly to a common unit of measurement in chemistry known as the mole. Now it relates, because avocados number is the number of atoms within a more. So, If you were to say, um, some element say, hydrogen, one mole of hydrogen would be six point would have 6.22 times 10 to 23 atoms within it. So that's most of what you need to know for this problem. But one additional thing is that you should know about an element's atomic mass. Now, if you look at the periodic table and you look at the bottom of each elements box, you'll see a series of numbers that's the atomic mass and the atomic mass basically states the number, the amount of grams, the number of grams that are within one mole of that substance. So let's say for hydrogen which has an atomic mass of one, one mole of hydrogen is approximately 1 g. So 6.22 times 10 23 23 atoms of hydrogen would be would have a mass of one grant. Alright, Without out of the way, let's move to the table itself. The first row was already filled out for us and we can use that to help us fill out the rest of this table. So let's take a look at this first one. We have 24 g of carbon. That is twice the amount of what was in the first row. And we know that in the first row it's 12 g of carbon was one mole. So all we need to do for this one is double that amount. So 12 g was one more 24 g is two moles and with the number of atoms, we are going to have to write this out. But all you need to do is just multiply the first three numbers. In our case, it's 602. We multiply 602 by two. We get 1204. So you just write that out. 1204 and then right. Seven sets of zeros. That's one. Now it's seven sets of zeros because the scientific notation is 23 which is basically the number of numbers. And if you multiply seven by three, you get 21 and you add these four numbers. You get 24. So, yeah, all you need to do for the scientific notation is right. These first two numbers, it's 1.2 times 10 to the 24. All right, now let's move on to the second one. We have 40 g of calcium. I want you to look at the periodic table and look for calcium theater. Tomic Mass of calcium is 40 g, so we know that 40 g of calcium is equal toe one more. So now I just fill out the rest of this table like we did like what was written in the first row. So that's 602 followed by seven sets of three zeros. Scientific notation is like the's standard avocados. Number 6.2 times 10. The 23 now the last 1 20 g of calcium. That is half the amount of our last one. So we know that it is half the amount of moles so 0.5. And for writing out the number of atoms, you just have to divide the first three numbers. You have 602. You divide that by two, you get 301 and in the seven sets of zeros Okay, okay. And for scientific notation, you take the first three. We put a decimal, you know, one, it was 10 to 23. So you go. This is your filled out table using avocados number.
