in this question. We want to determine whether this graph represents a function or not. What we want to remember is, by definition, every X corresponds to only one my value. In other words, we should never have two points above each other. So the shortcut to determining this weaken quickly visualize whether something is not is a function or not by using the vertical line test. A vertical line test says that if I've draw vertical line anywhere on this function, and I, I should only pass through the curve one time and we can see right here that I can drive vertical line and I will pass through this curve more than once. So this is very definitely not a function because it does not pass the vertical line test.
